I’ll start by saying this is a long time coming…
I came up with the idea of the Unprofessional Athlete in the summer of 2020, but it has been brewing in my mind for a long time. Since my undergrad days in Lincoln, friends have turned to me for advice on nutrition, exercise, sports performance, and overall general health and well-being. I won’t bore you with my biography or CV, but based on my background friends and colleagues have continued to come to me for advice even though my career has taken me away from the Sports Performance/Exercise Science sector.
My hope is that this site becomes a daily stop in your web browsing activities, and that more often than not you find engaging information and learn something new that you are able to apply to your own training. A majority of us athletes go Pro in something other than our sport(s) of choice, but we can still continue the pursuit of being the best athlete/professional/wife/husband/mother/father/(insert noun here) you can be.
I look forward to this journey together as we build a community of (Un)Professional Athletes!
